The Steel Rose

The Steel Rose is a Gentleman's Club in the city of Boralus in Kul Tiras, in the Hook Point neighborhood next to the Dampwick Ward area and the Ashvane Docks. It is down the dock from the The Loose Cannon Inn.

The Front Entrance

There is a main room with the dancer stage and bar, with a staircase to the private rooms upstairs. There are chairs at the dancer stage, and a number of tables  for patrons. Some of the dancers also earn coin as waitresses. Off the main room is the kitchen, which has a stair to the pantry and back exit (kept locked), and the Owners office.

Back Entrance

Dancers may dance erotically, either on-stage or in private sessions, but they are not allowed to prostitute themselves. All private dances must have a bouncer chaperon.

Patrons who cause trouble are tossed out into the water from a large bay window. Less troublesome patrons are advised to sleep it off at the Loose Cannon. Members of the Scrimshaw Gang are not allowed, and generally stay clear.

Customers often include solders from the Proudmoore Barracks, the Ashvane Docks sailors and dockworkers, and visitors to the Hook Point Market.

Staff

Phaedra
The Owner/Manager is a Draenei Paladin named Phaedra, who opened and operates The Steel Rose as a fundraising operation to help Orphan Matron Westerson in providing a home for children who've lost their families until they are old enough to go out on their own. The orphanage does its best to train the children for their futures and find them apprenticeships and livelihoods. She also helps women who become prostitutes find training for alternate employment.

Phaedra is honest, but does not always tell all she knows. Although a paladin, she doesn't judge, preferring to offer a haven of safety and stability to her dancers; if the dancers ever seek to improve their skills and quit dancing, she will be the first to help them into a new future.

Vrugbhok

The Steel Rose has a goblin chef named Vrugbhok, who is a bit of a culinary snob; he offers two entrees during the day, but when the dancers are on duty he mostly grouches about making cheese/bread/fruit platters.

If he takes a liking to a customer, it is easy to flattering him into making a custom meal.

Kharel
Bouncer Kharel (Kul Tiran Rogue) is a former Scrimshaw Gang Thug, who left when a brawl at the Kelp Club left him crippled. The Scrimshaw Gang left him unemployed, and he was a beggar until Phaedra healed his legs and gave him a job.

Katira
Bouncer Katira (Night Elf Rogue) is a former Sentinel Scout left homeless after the War of Thorns. She traveled to Kul Tiras and wandered into the Dampick Ward area, where she interrupted the rape of a local merchant shop assistant. She killed the five Scrimshaw offenders, and found herself with a bounty on her head. The local merchant shop assistant was grateful, and told her that the Steel Rose had a zero tolerance for the Scrimshaw Gang. She had meant that Katira might find employment as a dancer, but Katira proved herself skilled enough to be a bouncer as well. Katira lives in one of the rooms on the second floor not used for private dances.

Dancers

Scarlet

"Scarlet" Mariella Ward (Human Shadow Priest) - Formerly of the Scarlet Crusade, Mariella Ward became disenchanted with the  bigotry and hatred of the Scarlet Crusade, and eventually left their ranks when the Scarlet Crusaders encountered a band of adventurers that decimated their base in Northrend. Mariella spent a period of time in Stormwind, but the hierarchy of the Cathedral did not welcome her with open arms; Stormwind has an active faction of the Scarlet Crusades, and mistrusted her as either am oathbreaker or a spy - or both. She heard that there was no official presence of either the Scarlet Crusade nor the Cathedral of Light in Kul Tiras, so she moved to Kul Tiras. As the dancer "Scarlet", she earns her living at night, and spends her daylight hours helping the sick and injured in Dampwick Ward.

The
Baroness

"The Baroness" Syrene (Void Elf Arcane Mage) - Syrene was one of the Sindorei followers of  Magister Umbric who were exiled from Silvermoon City because of their research into the Void. Her title was rendered meaningless when the Blood Elves seized her lands and property. She ended up in Stormwind a homeless refugee, and seduced a human merchant, and became his accountant. Caught embezzling funds, she fled Stormwind to Boralus. She found employment using her seductive wiles on the hapless patrons, promising them pleasure but delivering tease.

What nobody from the Alliance knows is that she was an operative of the Shattered Hand, and spies for the Horde in Kul Tiras.

Azura
"Azura" Delena Hare (Half-Elf Mage) - Delena was born to a Human mother and an Elvin mage father. Her mother died of a disease after the Shadowlands era. She turned to waitressing at The Steel Rose to make ends meet, having fallen into loan-shark debt, and takes her shift dancing because the tips are so much better than waitressing.

Other Characters:

Peebles and Ophilia
Peebles and Ophelia (Gnome Alchemist and Kul Tiras Thug) Peebles is a warlock alchemist who has been given the Hook Point and surrounding area as his territory for selling illicit drugs of various kinds. Ophelia is his body guard and pack mule, the latest in a series; she carries the money and the cache of drugs, but never takes the money inside the Steel Rose.

Customers tell Peebles what they want, and Peebles tells them that "as an alchemist consultant" he recommends thus and such an alchemist, where they can find what they want, and offers the customer Ophelia to show him where that is.

Once outside, Ophelia takes the customer out of sight of the Steel Rose, and trades cash for the drugs specified. Peebles only gives Ophelia small amounts at any given time, so if she is caught he can sell her down the river, claiming he had no idea she was a drug dealer.

Drugs sold include:

* SaDiablo - An addictive drug made from soul shards that heal the user as well as make them euphoric.
